it is in a beautiful place and gives opportunities to visit the area around.a special atmosphere.

there is no air condition in the rooms and it was quite hot.

    Fabulous

I really enjoyed the hiking trails and beautiful scenery. Also, the Les Cascades restaurant was outstanding. We also enjoyed the breakfast.

The only negative aspect was that the shower in our room was very small, a little uncomfortable.

The ambience is exceptional, the location historic and set amongst wonderful forests, amazing waterfalls situated by a beautiful lake and mountain scenery. The renovation of this site is truly enjoyable without being ostentatious. The half-pension dinners are reasonable and excellent. Buffet Breakfast is a feast for the eyes and palette. We extended our stay. Wifi in the lobby and main lounge made it enjoyable to catch up on business while on holiday. Courtesy shuttle bus into town is an added bonus. Complimentary tea and coffee services available all day.

I would have enjoyed a small fitness room for the rainy days.

    Superb

Beautiful place, really worth it to go there even when it is difficult to find with gps. Very clean. The standard room nice but nothing special. Breakfast in the beautiful dining room and very exquisite. Worth the money. Dinner for 50 Swiss francs per person is not the best. Large selection of wines but Extremely expensive. Seas to drink of tea coffee and mineral water, juice free of charge on the third floor. In good weather, this is the place to go views are beautiful and unforgettable

    Fabulous

Very impressive hotel. Stunning location. Free fruit juice, tea and coffee on the top floor. Breakfast was amazing...one of the best buffets I have seen. Free minivan to Brienz train station however leaves at 10am when check-out is 11am. Getting there isn't easy but boat from Interlakken was impressive.

Expensive. They kind of expect you to eat dinner there cause there isn't anything around and it isn't cheap. However there are loads of tourists and a nice cheap hot dog kind of place that you can fill up at ;) Have to pay for the funicular even though you are guests (slightly cheaper for quests but you have to ask for it).

Location, all lakeside and waterfall rooms are large and comfortable, food was good.

We have stayed at the Giessbach several times before in the lakeside and waterfall rooms, we thought that forest rooms would be large and comfortable as the others, how wrong we were, the room that was allocated to us was small, dark and depresssing, we were booked in for three nights, however we felt we could not stay in this particular room so we left after one night. Car parking is a nightmare, cars over the years have got bigger, the carpark has stayed the same size, they park 3 deep and ask you to leave keys with reception which I strongly disagree with, we did ask for a garage but they were all allocated. If you are careful and mindful of where you park your car in a supermarket carpark this hotel is not for you. When we arrived about 16.30, we found that there is no where for residents to sit in the sun without being pestered to buy food and drinks, the patio area seems to be used mainly by day trippers who are spending money, we did not require food at this hour because we had booked into the restuarant for the evening, this hotel needs an area for residents to be able to sit and enjoy the sun and views in comfort, we were very disappointed on this visit..

    Fabulous

The location of the hotel is unique. The fantastic waterfall and the breathtaking view. The setting of the bio-pool is beautiful and there is nice play ground. The kids have enough space to run around (without disturbing anyone). The mixture of the guests, in age and nationalities, is really nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I loved to see the cook picking some fresh herbs and vegetables from their own garden before returning to the kitchen! We enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast buffet was excellent!

Wow! What a fabulous hotel. The location is amazing, lots of wonderful views. The hotel itself is very luxurios. We had a lovely, comfortable room. The restaurant was amazing, fantastic service. The breakfast buffet was the best I've seen in Europe. The staff were really helpful. We only stayed 24 hours but it was very memorable. Such a special place to stay.

    Very good

Food was poor and very, very expensive. Service so-so at best for a hotel at these prices.

    Good

Superb location with nice view on Brienz lake, at 200m height. Possibility for nice hiking trails. Playground for kids. Good food (gastronomic) at reasonable price. Free wifi, but limited centrally in the hotel. Inclusive buffet breakfast in price, with plenty of choice for food.

Minor details, but not really problematic: Parking space (some places with 3 in a row): must ask for garage but only possible by reservation. Rooms are old classic style (this is subjective assessment). Some minor odours, in some closed places, due to the presence of well behaved dogs...

Excellent hotel and a real indulgence for us. Splendid views from the terrace of a magical green lake. Restaurant had very good food and the service was excellent. The chap on reception very kindly and calmly sorted out a problem with our booking. A wonderful experience all round.
